Background on St. George
The Church of St. George in Prince Albert is the second church of the parish, with the first constructed in 1920. The original church served the parish for 35 years before being sold in 1956. The current church was built between 1957 and 1960, with significant blessings in 1959 and 1961 by Bishop Andrew Roborecki. Ukrainian settlement in the area began around 1903-1904, with the parish officially forming in 1920. The church is noted for its solid construction and rich interior decorations, designed by Volodymyr Sichensky. The parish has grown significantly over the years, becoming a central part of the community with various programs and events.
